Our Staff

Our company is Lochaber’s only locally owned and managed funeral directors and all of our staff are local to Fort William and Lochaber. We believe this is essential when dealing with bereaved families as a friendly familiar face can help ease the difficult time of losing a loved one. It is good to know who you are dealing with before you walk in the door. Below is our current staff members and their roles here.

Jamie S. Manson Cert. FP, M.I.F.D.C – Principal Funeral Director

Jamie has been involved in the funeral industry since the age of 17 and has been a big part of this company for well over a decade. During this time he has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in all aspects of funeral service. Jamie was born and brought up in Fort William and has extensive expertise on local traditions in Lochaber. He is also a fully qualified and accredited funeral director (Cert. F.P. M.I.F.D.C.) and these recognised qualifications were obtained through the Independent Funeral Directors College. He is well known and respected in and around Lochaber for the friendly, professional and caring service he provides to families. Jamie and Beth have co owned the company since 2017.


Beth MacBeath – Director 

Beth has worked for the company for over 13 years running the busy office, attending call outs and all practical duties within the funeral home. Before this Beth worked in the banking industry for 7 years and previous to that nursing auxiliary and care assistant in various hospitals and care homes from Aberdeen to Lochaber since leaving school. Since starting Beth has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the funeral industry. Beth now co owns the company with Jamie.


Kevin Kerr – Funeral Director

Kevin came to work with us over 4 years ago. His main role is assisting Jamie in all duties practical before, during and after funeral services. He also arranges and conducts funeral services. Kevin worked full time within the health care sector, primarily working as a care-at-home worker for the NHS and part time at a local nursing home.


Charlie Smith – Funeral Service Operative

Charlie started working with us at the beginning of 2018 after 42 years working at a local quarry. Charlie joined the team as a Funeral Service Operative. His main role is assisting Jamie and Kevin in all duties practical before, during and after funeral services.


Maggie Robertson (French) – Funeral Service Operative

Maggie came to join our team when she became passionate about the profession after going through personal bereavement and loss in her own life and wanted to give back to the community the same support she received. Maggie has begun training to become a Funeral Service Operative with further plans to extend her training to become a Funeral Director in the near future. Just now her role is assisting Jamie and Kevin in all duties practical before, during and after funeral services.


All of our staff work on our ‘on-call’ rota system to cover our 24 hour, 365 days a year service. We also have 4 more members of staff who work causal hours as and when required.
