Suddenly, but peacefully, in the compassion of the Belford Hospital, Fort William, on Wednesday 27th August 2025, Vivien Sandra Calderwood, known to all as Sandra, aged 79 years, Salen, Acharacle (former GP at Towerhill Medical Practice, Birmingham for over 30 years). Beloved wife of the late O’Donel Calderwood, a cherished mum to Robin and Eilidh and mother-in-law to Sarah, a wonderful granny to Sophia, Tom and Rory, a very close and special cousin to Mona, a dearly loved relative, neighbour and friend. So greatly loved and missed.

Peacefully passed away, in the care of the Belford Hospital, Fort William, on Monday 1st September 2025, John MacKinnon, aged 71 years, The Riggs, Fort Augustus (former Electrician with SSE). A dear brother to Angus, Alastair, Donald and Neil and brother-in-law to Deirdre, a much loved uncle to Jamie, Rachel, Kyle and Connor, a dearly loved relative, neighbour and friend. Rest In Peace.

Tragically taken too soon from his ever loving family, following a motorcycle accident, Lorne Watson MacMillan, aged 48 years, passed away in the care of the ICU – Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, on Monday 25th August 2025. He was our best friend, a loving partner, a treasured dad, an adored son, a wonderful brother, a fun loving uncle and a loyal friend to so many. We will love you forever our darling boy.

Peacefully, in the care of the Belford Hospital, Fort William, on Thursday 21st August 2025, Scott Anthony MacMillan, aged 63 years, Linnhe Road, Fort William (former employee with Corrie Construction). A loving son to the late Colin and Mary (Heathercroft), a cherished brother to Colin and Mary and brother-in-law to Bob, a much loved uncle to Corey, Harvey and Olivia, a dear relative and a good friend to many. Sadly missed.

Suddenly at home, on Tuesday 26th August 2025, Thomas Finbar Lynch (Tam), aged 68 years, Carn Dearg, Claggan, Fort William. A much loved dad to Thomas and Julie and father-in-law to Natalie, a proud grandpa to Alice, a cherished brother to Marie, Marshall and Daniel, a dearly loved relative and a good friend to many. Forever in our hearts.

Peacefully, in the care of Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Monday 18th August 2025, Murdina MacLeod (Dina), aged 86 years, Cameron Road, Fort William (formerly of Ayr and Sheshader, Isle of Lewis). A dearly loved aunt to Margaret, a loving partner to the late Len, a much loved sister to Alex and the late John, Mary and Cathy, a cherished sister-in-law to Irene and a caring aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and close friends. Forever in our hearts.

Suddenly at home, on Friday 8th August 2025, Isabella Ann MacDonald, known to all as Ann, aged 71 years, Walter Cameron Way, Corpach, Fort William. Beloved daughter to the late Ina Fraser, mother to Sandra and the late Anna, also remembered as a relative and friend. Rest In Peace.

Thomson for The Dandy and The Beano). A beloved husband to the late Margaret, a loving dad to Ali, Donnie, Cameron, David and Fiona and father-in-law to Auriel, a caring uncle, a dearly loved relative, neighbour and a good friend to many. So greatly loved and missed.

Peacefully, in the care of the Belford Hospital, Fort William, with his loving wife by his side, on Sunday 3rd August 2025, William Alasdair Baxter, known to all as Alasdair, aged 88 years, Lorn Drive, Glencoe. A beloved husband of Christine, a dearly loved relative, a respected friend and a true Highland Gentleman. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday 5th August 2025, Ewen Campbell, aged 85 years, Mossfield Drive, Lochyside, Fort William (formerly of Grant Place and Castle Drive), former boat builder in Mallaig and a locally retired Carpenter, Fort William. Beloved husband to Betty, a caring dad to George and Alison, a loving father-in-law to Lesley, brother to the late Cathie, Ian, Donald and Christina, much loved brother-in-law, a dear uncle and great uncle, a loved relative, neighbour and a good friend. Sorely missed.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his ever-loving family, on Tuesday 29th July 2025, Duncan MacInnes, aged 92 years, Bail Ur, North Ballachulish. A loving husband to Marion, a treasured dad to Lizzie, Sandy, Fiona and Duncan, a wonderful gramps to all his grandchildren and great grandchildren, a much loved father-in-law, a dearly loved relative and friend. Forever in our hearts. We celebrate the life of a man who lived 92 years with the energy of someone constantly being chased by the gamekeeper - and more often than not, he was. A man who could spot a blinking stag from 500 yards and convince you it was a threat to national security. A Navy veteran, a proud serviceman who defended his country with honour, sailed the high seas... then came home and declared war on the local wildlife. Here's to the man who lived life like it was one big adventure, and we suspect he's already raising hell up there. Dochie, our favourite rascal.

Peacefully, in the excellent care of Invernevis House, Fort William, on Monday 27th July 2025, Donald Ewen Ferguson, aged 83 years, St. John’s Road, Caol, Fort William. A dearly loved brother to Iain, Ewen, Murdina, Findlay and the late Catherine and brother-in-law to Isabella, Sandy, Louis, Ina and the late Murdo, a much loved uncle, great uncle, great great uncle and a good friend to many. Sadly missed. Donald studied modern languages at Aberdeen University, followed by nine years of teaching English in Kenya. He then served as Head of the Languages Department at Plockton Secondary School for over 30 years, during which time he made many good friends.

Peacefully, in the care of the Belford Hospital, Fort William, on Monday 21st July 2025, William Douglas McClymont, known to all as Dougie, aged 89 years, Callart Road, Kinlochleven. A loving uncle to Rances, Douglas, Bobby, David, Christine and Kathleen, a much loved great uncle to Kim, Chantel and his many other great nieces and nephews, a dear brother to Chrissie, Jimmy and the late Robert, Ian and Donald, a dearly loved relative and friend. So greatly loved and missed.

Very gently, in the care of Good Hope Hospital, The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, on Monday 7th July 2025, Sister Marie Inglis, aged 95 years, Great Barr, Birmingham (formerly of Fort Augustus). A dearly loved relative, parishioner and friend. RIP. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

With profound sorrow and broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of David Joseph Duncan, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday 16th July 2025, aged 32, surrounded by the love of his family in the Intensive Care Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. David was a devoted son to the late Maryanne MacKay, a deeply loved and cherished brother to Kathleen, Michelle, Alex, Scott, Sharon and Keith. A precious nephew, especially to Georgina, Isobel and Kathleen, a loving dad to Nathan and he was also a proud uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and a loyal friend to many. His kindness, warmth and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind will stay with us forever. Forever loved, missed and certainly never forgotten.

A loving partner to Nell for over 40 years, a cherished father to Rhona, John, Derek, Christine and Jeana, a wonderful papa to all his grandchildren and great grandchildren, a dearly loved relative, and a good friend to many. Sadly missed.
